Dreams have been deferred, weddings postponed. Yet, the desire for a brighter future burns bright. We believe that by strengthening families, we strengthen the entire community.

To create a stable economic foundation for couples and through our “Building Families, Empowering Lives” initiative, we will:
- Fully cover the costs of the wedding event to alleviate financial burdens.
- Organise skills-based training programs for couples as part of the pre-wedding activities.
- Provide a one-time grant of N2 million per couple to help them establish stable homes.

Who can apply
To be eligible for the mass wedding event and grant, couples must meet the following criteria:
- At least one of the prospective couples must be an indigene or resident of Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency, regardless of tribal affiliation.
- Both individuals must be between 18 and above
- The prospective couples must present their genotype results.
- At least one of the couples must show proof of carrying out their civic responsibility in either Makurdi or Guma Local Government (voter's card).
- Couples must provide proof of their relationship status (e.g., the bride's family must issue a written attestation to support the claim by prospective couples
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a clear plan for using the Grant
- Couples must have two guarantors who are either elders in the community, Religious Leaders, or a level 14 civil servant in Benue State
- Couples must be willing to participate in premarital training and empowerment sessions
- Each couple would be made up of a male and a female.

Born on the 12th of April, 1969, RT Honourable Dickson Tarkighir holds an MBA from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as well as a Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) in Leadership and Strategic Studies at the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna, and is currently pursuing a PhD in the same field at the same institution.
The proud father of three (3) is in his second stint in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly. Widely renowned for his robust legislative contributions on the floor of the House in bills, motions, and debates, the usually Agbada-clad legislator, with the occasional Western styled outfits, is a pacesetter in modern-day representation. Nicknamed Mai Solar or Mr Employment, for his signature outings in the areas of street lights and Federal Government jobs for his constituents, RT Hon Dickson Tarkighir is all over the performance map.
Amongst his many other interventions are a 10.5 million naira yearly scholarship programme for over 200 constituents in tertiary institutions; routine provision of transformers to communities in need of them; skill acquisition trainings for the youth and women; as well as crucial inclusions in the national budget of critical infrastructure in schools and roads; water schemes; primary healthcare etc

No, there is no cost to participate in the event. The grant covers all expenses related to the wedding ceremony.
The mass wedding event will take place at a location of our choice. All couples will be married at this venue.
If your application is approved, you will receive the grant funds within 2 weeks after the wedding ceremony.
The grant is intended to help you and your partner establish a strong foundation for your future. While there are no strict restrictions, we encourage you to use the funds responsibly and strengthen or start a sustainable business.
